The search for the debris of two unidentified flying objects shot down over American territory on February 10 and 12 has been halted by US authorities. The Northern Military Command has announced that operations for objects shot down over Alaska and Lake Huron have ended.
Despite thorough area searches using aerial imaging and sensors, surface sensors, and subsurface scans, no debris was discovered. The search was called off in Alaska due to arctic conditions and ice. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin approved the suspension of operations.
The US military also shot down a Chinese spy balloon flying over the country. The wreckage was found off the coast of South Carolina. “The final pieces are transferred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation Laboratory in Virginia for data analysis by counterintelligence, as was the case with previously recovered surface and underground debris,” according to a note.
