Russia wants the UN Security Council to begin an investigation: Nord Stream

On Friday, Russia submitted a resolution with the 15-member Council asking Antonio Guterres, Secretary General of the HIM, to launch a global inquiry to ascertain who was responsible for these sabotages.

According to Dmitry Polianski, Russia’s deputy ambassador to the UN, the document should be submitted for a vote this week.

For a resolution to pass the Security Council, it must have at least nine votes in favour and not face a veto from the United States, Britain, France, China, or Russia.

According to Swedish and Danish officials looking into the attack, the gas pipelines had explosive residue.
