Former President Jimmy Carter of the United States is receiving palliative care at home


Jimmy Carter, former President of the United States, decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family. The decision was made “after a series of brief hospital stays,” according to the Carter Center. “He will receive palliative care, instead of further medical interventions”, they add, specifying that the family “asked for respect for privacy at this time”. Carter, the 39th President of the United States from 1976 to 1980, is 98 years old. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.
